Text that will be added to your email: On May 9, 2009, in honor of Better Hearing and Speech Month, Hear Indiana will host its 6th Annual TALK.WALK.RUN presented by Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent at Fort Harrison Sate Park in Indianapolis. Hear Indiana is the non-profit Indiana chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. For over 30 years they have helped children with hearing loss achieve their fullest potential as independent members of society. Hear Indiana supports Hoosier families by providing advocacy, online support, mentoring, scholarships, an educational conference, and a Youth Leadership Camp for children with hearing loss. Hearing loss is one of the most common birth defects, and early intervention is key to achieving the best outcomes for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. With today's technology most deaf children can learn to listen and speak nearly as well as their hearing peers. Go online at HearIndiana.org to learn how you can get involved.
